When it comes to dating, thoughtful surprises are in order to get yourself noticed and appreciated. For ideas on different and unusual dates to try, consider art exhibitions, romantic walks at local beaches / lakes etc, going for a picnic or a visit to a food festival. You could always go to a free concert (check local press) or exercise together if you're both into keeping fit. For sports fans you may like to try an alternative sporting event to attend which neither of you have been to before - basketball, archery, water polo, ice hockey, netball etc. There is always a local funfair or the old favourite of a trip to the cinema, DVD rental or going to a pub to play some pool.
The main thing is to be considerate and think of what will entertain your date whilst enabling you to relax and be seen in your best environment. Should a special occasion be in order you may want to try renting a limousine and going for a drive whilst sharing champage and relaxing to some romantic music. A sunset view over water would add to the romance. If you wanted to pamper your date then a trip to a spa could be in order, whilst a trip to the theatre would be appreciated by many.
